Lilac Festival Guide 2008

Each year, the opening of festival season in Rochester is marked by the Lilac Festival. A festival that showcases one of the largest collections of various lilac plants in the world, it is one of the most attended festivals of the year. Each year, the paper builds and distributes a guide to the festival with maps, stories and all the information you need to know for the week. This year I was the lead designer, building the cover and the entire special section. For the cover, shown here, I went with an Andy Warhol effect, though sticking only with shades of lilacs - white, blue, pink and purple.
